This is a story I read sometime back but don’t recollect the name of the author. The story goes like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“No one understands me” is the grumbling of many. Swamiji even my wife does not understand me. What should I do? This is the cribbing of many a husband. If a person cannot develop a good relationship with his wife then who else can he get along with. Email and internet have brought people all over the world much closer than ever before. No country or people operate individually, in isolation. In the information age friendship and contact with people the world over have become imperative. But what is the reality? We find it difficult even to open a converstion with an unknown person. We are unable to strengthen existing friendships. We move away from others with complaints like “he is egoistic”, he has no manners, etc. You greet your superior and he fails to respond. This one incident makes you conclude ‘he thinks too high of himself and does not respect others”. This is were the trouble starts. Perhaps your superior might not have noticed your greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Philipino monk came to learn the vedas – ancient Indian texts. During brief interactions I taught him sanskrit. In return he offered to teach me tantra. Tantra does not mean tantric magic or some mumbo jumbo. There is a technique to read the minds of other people. He offered to teach me certain methods, but I refused saying I don’t need them. When my mind itself is a big mystery why should I try to know the minds of other people. The next day while returning the monk told me, ‘It is terrible to know what is in the minds of other people’.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
